The 2017 Artists Assembly is an invitation only event that will be held in Chicago, Illinois between March 27-30, 2017. It will bring together our 2016 cohort of Fellows and the 2006 class of alumni for our 10 year anniversary.

The Assembly is a 3-day convening where these exceptional artists have a rare chance to meet, discuss their work and professional issues, share ideas, and gain exposure to opportunities and resources that can advance their artistic and professional practices.

In addition to the Fellows, the Assembly brings together representatives from the country’s preeminent arts foundations, donors, cultural and civic leaders, national press and the USA Board of Trustees. Part retreat, part conference and part arts festival, attendees have a unique opportunity to meet the USA Fellows through their presentations and performances, participate in topical discussions and revel in Chicago’s vibrant arts and cultural scene.

A highlight of the Artists Assembly is a celebration of the 2016 Fellows at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. An anticipated 800+ attendees will enjoy performances featuring a select group of 2016 Fellows that may include music, dance, theater, film, spoken word, multi-media, and more. USA’s first Artist Community Outreach Day will close the convening, with Fellows taking part in artist-led presentations, master classes, or performances with a cross-section of Chicago youth.
